 Tenderness
by Ghislaine Bouskila
What could be more important really than making sure that everyday and in every way I surround myself with tenderness, inside and out?
If I am to be of service, tenderness is going to be my most powerful energetic contribution.
"Love is the way and now is the time" has been my motto for many years, inspired by the Indigo Children message collected by James Twyman.

 Liar Liar pants on fire!
by Jennylee Taylor
.... what about the lies we tell ourselves.  The ones that are undermining everything we do in life? The insidious personal lie that pervades our own very existence and underpins everything we do. The one we unconsciously cross our fingers about hoping that no one will discover because we feel ashamed and embarrassed.

A first-timers experience of an Internal Breathwork Conference
by Joshua Alexander from Transition Breath
Los Angeles Airport is possibly the worst place on earth. It is chaotic, bustling and egocentric. A place where the elderly are harassed for being slow, anxiety is rife, and impatience is a virtue.  LAX is a tarnished mirror reflecting humanity’s shadow. But it was here, amongst the chaos,

that I had my first encounter with the international breathwork community.
Walking through the crowd, wondering where to board the bus to Joshua Tree National Park, a person emerged. His long, curled hair and white clothing with a colourful vest caught my eye, but what captured my attention was his energy. I felt in that moment complete relaxation and peace. This person, in one of the busiest airports on the planet, appeared to float through the space as if untouched by its madness. I knew straight away I was looking at a “breathworker”.

Great article by John Stamoulos about the difference between pranayama and Breathwork.
What Breathwork is and What it is Not
"When it comes to breathing techniques, Breathwork is often lumped in with pranayama and other life enhancement disciplines that use the breath for meditation, relaxation, focusing and wellbeing. It is also often thought to be simply a part of Yoga practice or part of meditation.
Truth is, Breathwork is neither Yoga nor meditation. It stands alone as its own process.

And…even though the breath is the common denominator in all these processes, Breathwork has its own unique approach and end-goal. In Breathwork, the breath is a therapeutic vehicle for release, healing and growth."

Tears and Laughter in Breathwork by Ann Harrison

Both laughter and tears can make us feel better, and, in a Breathwork session, they come naturally.

Research has proven that there’s a lot more going on when our body expresses strong emotion than we realise. Anything from the slightest smile to a thigh-slapping belly laugh causes a positive response in your body.

Medication isn't the only thing that can be used to change your brain chemistry: Breathing can do that too - completely naturally, without unwanted side effects. This is why it is such a powerful tool in treatment of anxiety, emotional issues and trauma. The breath is something we can use every day to deal with life challenges with more ease, clarity and focus.

A climate of change: a therapeutic response to climate change - Joshua Alexander
A thought provoking, moving and well researched look into the link between the human emotional state and climate change.
"Qualitative research finds evidence of some people being deeply affected by feelings of loss, helplessness, and frustration due to their inability to feel like they are making a difference in stopping climate change. New terms such as ‘eco-anxiety’, ‘climate change anxiety’, are sometimes used to describe this"  ..... therapy practices, such as breathwork, provide a non-verbal exploration into the underlying feelings about climate change and its impact on our lifestyle, our families, communities and our world.

When you are done talking - Breathe
Ever find that talking just isn't enough? Sometimes we can talk about a traumatic event, or something else we are struggling with, till we are blue in the face, yet be unable to shift it. Mentally we may understand things better or try to explain our feelings away, emotionally we are still in a world of pain. This is where breathwork comes in!
